Designing Interactions
Bill Moggridge
Interviews with the people who designed the mouse, the desktop, the web and the phone, on how interaction design came to be.
About this book
In Designing Interactions, Bill Moggridge presents forty designers whose work changed how people deal with digital technology. Moggridge designed the GRiD Compass, the first laptop computer, in 1981 and helped found IDEO, and he tells each story from inside the industry, following ideas from first spark to finished product. The interviews take up questions like why a desktop computer shows windows, what made Palm's organizers work, and why Google became the search engine people pick. Moggridge also describes his own way of working, and how people's needs spark new designs and prototyping is changing at IDEO.
